Silence fell over the camp at dawn on the morning of the 4th. And people slowly filtered into Main Circle to pray for world peace and healing. The silence broke at solar noon when children from Kiddie Village paraded into the center of the Circle. According to Forest Service estimates, 20,000 people attended the Gathering on the 4th of July. After the breaking of the silence, the Rainbow Family celebrated its 26th birthday.
